This 20,000 riels was released on 16.05.2018, to mark the 65th Birthday of King Norodom Sihamoni. The King was born on 14.05.1953. Whilst this is a commemorative note, there are no commemorative texts added to the note. This note is dated 2017.
Whilst the front of the note has the similar design as those previously issued, the design on the back is completely new. As expected, the design features the portrait of King Norodom Sihamoni. The design on the back is the Banteay Srei (or Banteav Srey) temple located in the Angkor area. This temple was built in the 10th century dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
