This is a specimen note of 20000 riels issued on 16.05.2018, celebrating King Norodom Sihamoni's 65th Birthday. King Norodom Sihamoni was born in the capital city of Phnom Penh on 14.05.1953, 179 days before Cambodia obtained independence from the French. At the time of his birth, the country (including Laos and Vietnam) was called French Indochina.
King Norodom Sihamoni was appointed as King of Cambodia by the country special nine-member council on 14.10.2004, following the surprise abdication by his late father, King Norodom Sihanouk (b.1922-2012) a week earlier. His position as the new King was confirmed on 29.10.2004.
I believe there are no commemorative texts or logo printed on this note. The date printed on this note is 2017.

Front - The design on the front is very similar to the 20,000 riels issued in 2008. On the front, it depicts the portrait of the King looking downwards, and to his left is the stone statue of Naga in Angkor Wat temple. The image of Naga features a snake with seven heads.

Back - Banteay Srei (or Banteav Srey) temple located in the Angkor
