Malaysia - 1 Ringgit ND2000 Zeti Aziz Prefix AA to AGP

One Ringgit
ND2000, P39
AA Two Letters First Prefix
ZV Two Letters Last Prefix
ND2000, P39
AAA Three Letters First Prefix
ABW Small Letters Prefix (Last)
ABX Large Letters Prefix (First)
ADT Large Letters Prefix (Last)
ADU Small Letters Prefix (First)
AGP Last Prefix
Posted here are 8 notes of one ringgit first released in 2000, all signed by Governor Zeti Aziz. The notes posted here are the first prefix of AA, double letter last prefix of ZV, then triple A prefix and the final last prefix of AGP before the release of the current RM1 polymer series. In between the fonts size of the letter prefix also changed between ABX to ADT before it reverted back to the original font size. Common consencsus is that ZV is not a replacement prefix. Well, I don't have a clue. If they all said it's not, then it's not, right? Case closed.

  2. Hi WhyCollect,

    Thanks for dropping by.

You must have missed the news. It was reported early this week that BNM will be releasing a new set of banknotes from RM1 to RM100 in 2012. The new release will include the RM20 denomination, but not the RM50 as this was issued in 2007/2008. New set of coins are also be releasing end of this year too.I am sure many collectors will be pleased to see new coins in circulation too.

    Cheers

  3. Might have misinterpreted the facts read earlier.
Is it not only the coins would have new designs?
But the banknotes would retain back the overall old design except for the RM20?
    Thanks a lot, paperbanknotes :)

  6. Hi WhyCollect

I will be interested to find out the design of the new notes. I hope they are not like those second series notes where the designs are all about the capital city.....
